NATIONAL INTEGRATION: The nature of conquests and establishment of colonial administration in 1914 didnt made any effort to unify the various ethnic nationalities to evolve the concept of a nation in the Nigerian project. This was compounded by the introduction of Regionalism which the yorubas and Igbos and Hausa-Fulanis seek to socially assimilate and politically dominate and economically marginalised the present Niger Delta, no region was created for the Ijos and the ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta by the colonial government. This brought about the fears and grievances of the Niger delta people and agitatations for statism, championed by Harold Dappa Biriye of blessed memory ,which compelled the British to set up the Henry Willink Commission to look into the fears and grievances of Niger Delta people against assimilation , domination and marginalisation by the WAZOBIA. Political parties were also regionally created for the dominance of the big three tribes-WAZOBIA against the Ijos as minorities whom resources remains the National cake. Wonderful
