NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BRIEF #1 1.20.2014 Good afternoon, NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED THEIR BRIEF IN REGARDS TO UPCOMING STORM. THOUGH IT APPEARS THAT THE SNOW WILL BE,MOSTLY SOUTHERN TIER. HOWEVER, THE BITTER COLD IS GOING TO BE A BURDEN IN OUR LOCAL. THE FOLLOWING IS THE BRIEF: IMPACTS: SNOW/COLD/WIND CHILLS Snow will affect the southern tier of the region - Snowfall amounts in the 4-8 will inch range will make for the usual travel headaches. - Lighter amounts up through the central counties. Bitter Cold and Wind Chill will become issues starting tonight - High temperatures Tuesday will be as much as 20 - 25 degrees colder than today. - Wind chill will drop below zero during the day Tuesday. - Wind chill will average 10 to 20 below zero over the north ans Laurels... and 5 to 15 below zero over the south over night Tuesday into Wednesday.
