NAVY-WIDE ADVANCEMENT EXAMS & THE RANK ORDER The purpose of the Navy-wide Advancement Exam (NWAE) is to measure each candidates rating knowledge compared to all other candidates taking the same exam. The exam Standard Score is a numeric representation of your standing among peers - how well you did on the exam against all others in the same paygrade/rating. The exam is a key element of the Final Multiple Score (FMS), and helps establish the rank-order. Advancements are based on opportunity (quotas). Therefore, your FMS rank-order standing is critical to advancement, particularly when a rating has limited quotas. Good luck to all advancement candidates taking the NWAE! (N32)
