NBC STAFF PETITION MANAGEMENT FOR BETTER SECURITY MEASURES By Emmanuel Maipe and Samuel Raitano In light of an unfortunate incident last night where two NBC staff were allegedly raped by criminals, the management has now taken a serious measure to addressing staff safety. The incident occurred when the staff were on a drop-off following their shift at work last night onboard the company vehicle. This was done after staff laid out their demands today, demanding the organization’s board and management, to have a full armed security escort organized immediately; especially for night drop- offs. At the same time the staff also took out their frustration on the management and board on current issue surrounding organisation, claiming that this has affected them and also contributed to the incident, and seriously want this matter fixed for everyone’s good. Communications Minister, Jimmy Miringtoro who sat for the meeting, assured that the matter will be resolved as soon as possible. He also thanked the Managing Director for NBC, Mr. Memafu Kapera for immediately addressing security concerns for their staffs saying that safety is very important. NCD’S Metropolitan Superintendent, Andy BAWA confirmed the incident and said police are still investigating the incident.
