NBC nightly news with Brian Williams showed a story on Ferguson. In it, it showed images of 6 little white kids and their parents cleaning up after the mess them Black folks made the previous days. The story felt that way to me at least. Here are these kids with shovels picking up debris from a boarded store while other kids were painting snowmen and decorating the wooden panels protecting the store. At the end of the story the reporter asks a kid to reflect and he commented how he thinks people should not be destroying buildings in their community. Need I go on? OK, so Al Jazeera earlier today also showed a similar story showing African American senior citizens, kids, parents and others doing the exact same thing. They even showed footage of people standing in front of some store fronts during the protests but that didnt make the mainstream media news. I can only assume if they had NBC probably thought they would be criticized for trying to divide the Black community or something. So whats the moral of the story? The great big shining white Knight also comes in toddler size. *sigh*
