NC TO STRUGGLE FOR COMPLETE AUTONOMY: SALMAN SAGARSAYS OMAR’S PRO-YOUTH INITIATIVES HISTORICSrinagar, Jan 1 (KNS): Stating that National Conference will continue its struggle to achieve complete autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir, Provincial President Youth (Kashmir region) Salman Ali Sagar Thursday said that NC won’t allow sacrifices of people to go waste.Salman while chairing a meeting of youth workers fromKashmir region at the party headquarters said that National Conference always stood for protecting the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and will remain steadfast till it achieves the goal of autonomy.“People of Jammu and Kashmir have offered sacrificestime and again and NC will never allow their sacrifices to go waste. We stand by our commitment for complete autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir,” Salman said.Pinpointing the achievements of Omar Abdullah’s tenure as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Salman said these years witnessed a lot development in the state and the pro-youth initiatives taken by Omar Abdullah are historic.“In the floods that drowned the major parts of Kashmir, every politician from valley fled away to Delhi and otherplaces, but it was only Omar Abdullah who worked tirelessly on ground for his people in those crucial times,” he said and added “The work done by National Conference-led government in the last six years speaksloud and clear across the state.”Salman said the pro-youth initiatives like Himayat Scheme, SKEWP, Udaan and Centre’s Scholarships for youth, were a gift by Omar Abdullah to the youth of the state, who reposed their faith in the young and dynamicleader.“It was only during Omar Abdullah’s tenure that 500 youth returned from Pakistan Administered Kashmir through rehabilitation policy who are now living a peaceful life with their families,” he said.Salman appealed youth to read the history of Jammu and Kashmir thoroughly to know about the poor living conditions of people in the past.“We were treated as slaves, but it was only due to the efforts of Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah that condition of people improved and they were pulled out of darkness,” he said.
