NC blot on political setup of JK: Parra ‘Youth will be real agents of change’ =>Terming National Conference a blot on the political setup of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth President, Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra has said unless it is fully wiped out politically the state can’t be transformed into a developed and peaceful destination. He also said the time ahead belongs to the youth and it is they who will have to make sure that a responsible, caring and sensitive government is formed in the state. He said youth will be the real agents of change which the PDP is espousing for and the party hopes they will whole heartedly participate in the democratic process. “The worst ever calamity struck this land in the form of National Conference when the party came into being. It has done unimaginable, irreparable damage to the state’s interests since its inception.” he said while addressing a youth convention at Newa in Pulwama assembly constituency. The convention was organized by Tariq Ahmad Wani, district youth coordinator, Pulwama. Parra said the lust for power made the National Conference blind to the interests of the people since last eight decades. “To remain relevant in the political scene it heaped every conceivable disgrace on the people, traded state’s interests for chair, damaged institutions, curbed opposition, institutionalized corruption, encouraged crime and used every sort of oppressive method to control the people,” he said. The PDP youth president said there is urgency of change on the ground and the youth have to bid the present oppressive and insensitive regime led by Omar Abdullah a good bye. “Omar Abdullah being young failed our youth through his ineptness and lack of maturity. He proved to be disaster and will be always remembered for the reign of terror and corruption he unleashed in the state,” he said. Speaking on the occasion Senior PDP leader and MLA, Mohammad Khalil Bandh said the PDP envisions making the youth powerful, empowered and wants to bring back the scholarly status the state used to enjoy in the past. “PDP’s main focus will be creating meaningful and respectable job opportunities for the youth once voted to form the government besides providing the people good governance and corruption free system,” he said adding the party will establish more quality schools, institutions of excellence and research institution so as to provide our youth a chance to prove themselves. Addressing the convention, Bari Andrabi, PDP district president Pulwama, said the empowerment of the people particularly the youth forms the key element of the PDP’s agenda and the party will fight for it without any compromises. He said PDP has formulated a comprehensive policy for the development of every section of the society and it will be its endeavor to involve every individual in its story of change.
