NC lashes out at Amitabh Mattoo Questions his objectivity, personal agendas Who is he to term 20% Kashmiris as untouchables? - NC Spokesman Junaid Mattu Srinagar December 27th, 2014: National Conference Saturday lashed out at academician and former Vice Chancellor Jammu University, Professor Amitabh Mattoo for his brash, unacceptable comments about the people of Jammu & Kashmir and National Conference. Terming Mattoos remarks, where he had called National Conference untouchable as a desperate effort on Mattoos part to curry favors from a potential PDP Government, NC Spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu advised Amitabh Mattoo to either show the courage to join PDP directly or stop his nauseating moral platitudes on the sidelines aimed at securing a job in a potential PDP Government in J&K. Dr. Amitabh Mattoo is one of the many facets of a prolonged propaganda by PDP to create opinion and masquerade it as reflecting opinion. First there were PDP-sponsored satellite opinion polls from the other side of the globe, then there was Amitabh Mattoos politicization of the tragic, devastating floods and now that PDP has gotten much less than what the Amitabh Mattoos of this propaganda machinery predicted in their self-indulgent, deluded election analyses, he has now resorted to discredit those more than 20% of people of J&K who voted in favor of National Conference. Who is Amitabh Mattoo to call National Conference untouchable and hence abuse those more than 20% of voters who reposed their faith in National Conference? If Dr. Mattoo is so desperate to score brownie points and curry favors with Mufti Sahab and the PDP, he for a change should put his money where his mouth is and join PDP. Political commentary from the safe, stable confines of a full-time, politically sponsored job in Australia is a convenient excuse for courage, NC Spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu said. The NC Spokesman said the delusions of biased commentators like Dr. Amitabh Mattoo and those of his ilk had gone unchecked for far too long and the time had come to call a spade a spade. Enough is enough. This man has become a self-proclaimed holy-cow on facebook and in press-statements issued from Australia. Now once you respond to his moral platitudes and judgements, I am certain he will resort to the canons of courtesy and fairness - which would be yet another reiteration of a deep-rooted hypocrisy on his part. We understand that Dr. Mattoo is completely infatuated with the PDP and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and wants Mufti Sahab to be the Chief Minister so that he himself could be rehablitated somewhere by the State Government. Thats all OK but now Amitabh Mattoo has started speaking on behalf of the BJP, Sajad Lone as well as independents who have won - flattering some, trivializing the others if they dare to not bend over backwards to please Mufti Sahab - this is now stretching it a bit too far, NC Spokesman said. If there are no holy-cows in politics, there certainly are no holy-cows in political commentary either. Dr. Amitabh Mattoos pretensions dont make him special. Armchair commentators and biased opinion pollsters come a dime a dozen in India and most of them leave no stone unturned to curry political favors in the guise of opinion-making and opinion-reflection. National Conference has fought against feudals and tyrants of a similar kind who thought it was their inherited right to skin Kashmiris and push them into forced labor, all along claiming intellectual high-ground and superiority. Dr. Mattoo should be told that its 2014 and the people of Jammu and Kashmir have defeated fuedalism and oppression and are no longer vulnerable to brainwashing. National Conference has gone from an 11% vote share in Parliament Elections to nearly 22% vote share in the recently concluded Assembly Elections and we are only going to rise and rise from here - that Dr. Mattoo and his fellow propagandists should have no doubt about, NC Spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu further added.
