NC stages anti-Israel rally Seeks halt in air strikes Srinagar, July 16, CNS: Scores of ruling National Conference workers led by Shiekh Mustafa Kamal took out a march from party headquarters to UNIMOGIP office in Srinagar on Wednesday against the Israeli aggression in Palestine and presented a memorandum there. Eyewitnesses told CNS that scores and male and female supporters of National Conference workers assembled at their party headquarters Nawai-Subha and from there marched towards UNIMOGIP office located in Sonawar Srinagar. Party additional General Secretary Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamal and Preseident Youth National Conference Salman Sagar lead the march. The NC workers were carrying black flags, placards and banners seeking immediate stoppage of Israeli air strikes in Gaza. NC activists chanted anti-Israel slogans throughout their march. Large contingent of police was deployed to ensure the safety of the NC activists participating in the march. The party submitted a memorandum at the UN office seeking the intervention of the world body in ending the Israeli onslaught on Gaza that left over 200 people dead and hundreds others, mostly children and women, injured in the week-long offensive. Party General Secretary Dr Mustafa Kamal told CNS that nobody from UNIMOGIP office came forward to collect the memorandum and thus they pasted it on the front gate. (CNS)
