NCCS A Letter to the Editor from Mr. McManus. One of the best teachers when I was at NCCS. TO THE EDITOR: I am writing this letter in support of the candidacy of Aaron Woolf for Congress. When I met Aaron, I was immediately impressed with his knowledge of the issues confronting this country and his common-sense approach to problem solving came across loud and clear. He is a consensus builder and a man who has lived a life of accomplishment. I have been in elected public office for more than 20 years, and in that time, I have observed the legislative skill that has been the most productive is the ability to work with people who have opposing ideas. This allows legislators to build compromise legislation that can help average Americans in their daily lives. Aaron Woolf supports this reasonable approach, which is a hallmark of our constitution and the key to breaking the gridlock that plagues our Congress. Aaron is also right on the issues. He supports making college more affordable and believes that we are the stewards of our environment who need to confront global warming rather than further delay our response. Aaron is a strong supporter of local farms in our area. He believes that Congress should not get paid unless they can complete a budget. And, he believes that both Social Security and Medicare are sacred covenants with individual citizens. They have paid into them and they must be preserved. Washington is broken, and we need to send people there who can work across the aisle and get things done. I believe Aaron is that individual and urge the voters in the 21st District to join me on Election Day and vote for a positive future and Aaron Woolf. HARRY McMANUS Rouses Point
