NCDOT Awards $2.6 Million to Resurface Roads in Rowan County RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to resurface more than 19 miles of roads in Rowan County, including Mooresville Road (N.C. 150) and eight secondary roads. The $2.6 million contract was awarded to The Lane Construction Corp. of Cheshire, Conn. Work can begin as early as July 29, and is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 15. As part of the contract, crews will resurface a 1.6-mile section of Mooresville Road (NC 150) from S Main St in Salisbury to Candlewick Drive. In addition, the contract includes the resurfacing of the following secondary roads: • A 0.4-mile section of S Jake Alexander Boulevard from the I-85 interchange to Old Concord Road, including the on and off-ramps to I-85; • A 1.9-mile section of Caldwell Road from Milbridge Road to Mooresville Road; • A 1.9-mile section of Miller Chapel Road from Miller Road to Airport Road; • A two-mile section of Peach Orchard Road from Old Concord Road to the railroad tracks; • A 2.7-mile section of Lentz Road from S US 29 Hwy to Pine Ridge Road; • A 2.8-mile section of Airport Road from S Main St to Mooresville Road; • A 2.8-mile section of Mt. Hope Church Road from Old Concord Road to W 3rd Street in Faith; and • A 3.7-mile section of China Grove Road from S US 29 Hwy to the Cabarrus County line.
