NCMF OFFICIALS VISIT SULU, STRENGTHEN MUTUAL COOPERATION WITH PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT November 18, 2014, Asturias, Jolo, Sulu - Sulu Governor Abdusakur Totoh A. Tan II welcomes National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Yasmin Busran Lao, Commissioners and NCMF directors, when they visited Sulu, Tuesday. Arriving half past 12 noon, at Jolo port via fast craft from Zamboanga City. With Lao, are Commissioner Mehol K. Sadain, Commissioner Edilwasif Baddiri, Commissioner Salem C. Demuna, Commissioner Esmael W. Ebrahim, Acting Regional Director Macderul M. Sangkula, Acting Regional Director Malande, Acting Regional Director Kenny Tan and Atty. Naima M. Saggacala. Commission officials, proceeded to the Tans residence in Jolo, to have lunch and a meeting with Gov. Tan II and VIce Gov. Sakur Tan, Jolo Hussin U. Amin and Sulu Grand Mufti Julasri Abirin. In their meeting, Sec. Lao, hinted on the purpose of documentation of all Filipino Muslims identity. The proposal of having a Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)Passport service, National Statistics Office, NBI Clearance, etc. in Sulu, a one stop shop concept to be established in the Province. The proposal would serve the objective, make government services closer to the people and, issuance of valid and legal documents for persons without proper documentation. Gov. Tan II, supported the proposal and offered to shoulder salaries of personnel, office structure, and other expenses needed for operations. The NCFM would be in charge of equipments, coordination and other matters related to downloading govt services in Sulu. In fact, this coming Dec. 1 and 2, 2014, Applicants of passport and NSO authentication last Sept. 18-20, 2014, during our Job Fair, will receive their new or renewed passport and Authenticated NSO Documents., Tan informed NCMF Officials. Gov. Tan II and VG Tan, in support NCMF, offered to Sec. Lao to construct an NCMF office at the Capitol Grounds. the lot and 50% counterpart of expenses on office construction will be shouldered by Gov. Tan II and VG Tan. Lao, expressed gratitude to Gov. Tan II and VG Tan for their enthusiastic support to NCMF. Baka by January 2014 ay Masimulan na natin na Ayusin ang pagkakaroon ng One stop shop dito sa Sulu. Lao, said. Overall it was a very fruitful meeting with the NCMF Officials. OTHER matters regarding the annual Hajj to Makkah, KSA were also discussed. Announcement on these matters will made, once there is finality in arrangements.
