NCR Home Buyer’s Group gives Jantar Mantar a glimpse of realty By admin On 15 Dec, 2014 At 12:45 PM | Categorized As News Of The Day, Real Estate News | With 0 Comments 125,699 total views, 522 views today NCR-Home-Buyers association The NCR Home Buyer’s Group, a constantly growing collective of home owners that has pooled its resources to raise a unified voice against ills which ail India’s realty sector, congregated at Jantar Mantar on Sunday (December 14) to draw attention to the plight of home buyers in Noida and Greater Noida in particular and across the country in general. “The middle class has taken to the streets”, said Chandan Rajgadhia, a member of the Home Buyer’s Group who owns a flat in the Crescent Tower of Jaypee Infratech’s Wish Town development. “We have been reduced to the status of bonded labourers. Our salaries come in and they disappear in EMIs for the homes we have bought, rent for the houses we are living in right now and there is nothing left by the end of it all. The dam of patience has burst”. Organised at Jantar Mantar Marg, yesterday’s rally, held under the umbrella banner #giveusourhomes, featured participation from home owners in projects by Jaypee Infratech, Parsvnath Developers, Unitech, Emaar MGF, Amrapali Group, NRI Residency, Gardenia Group and many more. The weather had taken a turn for the worse a day before on Saturday but cold, wet and totally inclement as they were, the hostile conditions could not put a dampener on the spirits of the people who had gathered to demand what is rightfully theirs. In fact, the NCR Home Buyer’s Group found its strength buoyed by home owners of Kolkata West International City who made the trek from Kolkata to participate in the rally. NCR-HBGIt is true that the weather did affect the turnout but those that had braved conditions to arrive at Jantar Mantar were extremely vocal about their demands. “This is to request the government to frame the stipulations of the Real Estate Regulatory Bill in such a way that existing home owners also get relief”, said NK Sarin from the stage. “In its current form, the Bill will only take future projects into consideration and ongoing projects will not come under its purview”, continued Sarin who is an advocate by profession and a home owner in a Unitech project. The proceedings came to an abrupt end when a fast and furious downpour drenched everything around it but not before a touch of Indian mythology where a chap dressed as a demon king came up the rally and offered to amplify demands of the home owners to a larger audience. There was a general air of merriment when someone suggested that the demon king represented the developers. Encapsulated in a nutshell, the NCR Home Buyer’s Group wants to draw attention to the following points: Delay in delivery of flats Real Estate Bill to be passed in the winter session of Parliament Equitable penalty for the delay in possession to be paid on a monthly basis No increase in super area at the time of possession Quality of construction to be audited by third party
