NCRI - In a speech in the Canadian Parliament, MP Russ Hiebert called on the Iraqi government of Nouri Al-Maliki to stop to give in to the mullahs in Iran and free the seven residents of Camp Ashraf taken hostage by Iraqi forces on September 1. Mr Hiebert said that in front of the American embassy here in Ottawa Iranians have been on hunger strike for the past 65 days to bring to the attention the plight of a large group of Iranian refugees in Iraq. The 3,000 pro democracy activists known as the MEK [the Peoples Mojahedin Organization of Iran(PMOI)] who are refugees in Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty being harassed by Iraqi forces Hunger strike started after the latest assault on September 1 when 52 unarmed refugees were killed by Iraqi forces and another seven individuals six of whom are women were taken hostage. Mr Heibert said: The world community has condemned this outrage. Canada has for those who are responsible be brought to justice. It is time for Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his government to stop to giving in to the Iranian regime, free the hostages and assist the refugees to get to Western nations.
