NDE EMPOWERED 50 ILAWE YOUTHS COURTESY OF ALAWE No fewer than 50 (Fifty) Ilawe Youths were on Monday 22nd December 2014 (Yesterday) empowered by National Directorate of Employment courtesy of Ọba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti. The Programme which was influenced by Ọba Adebanji Alabi to Ilawe-Ekiti is aimed at empower Ilawe Youths to be self dependent & employer of labour so as to reduce drastically the rate of unemployment in the town as idle hands they say is devils workshop. The Beneficiaries who are mainly Youths from all the Quarters in Ilawe has earliar bein trained FREE OF CHARGE on different appreticenship skills ranges froms Phone Repairs, Event Managements/Decoration, Soap Making, Beads Making & Fashon Designing for Three Months. Agbajeola Memorial Hall, Ilawe Ekiti was filled to capacity yesterday as equipments were bein disbursed to the beneficiaries. The equipment, some of which are Generators, Sewing Machines & lots more with a take off grant of Thirty Thousand Naira (₦30,000) were distributed to the youths who all dressed in same Adirẹ attires. On the High Table were Alawe-In-Council Representatives, The High Chiefs from different Quarters, Important Dignitaries from the State, NDE State Cordinator among others. While addressing the joyous beneficiaries, High Chief Aladetuyi Ọlọja Adin & High Chief Awẹ Ọdọfin Okebedo in their different exhortative speeches advised the beneficiaries to make use of the rare opportunity judiciously. They (the beneficiaries) were encouraged to be diligent in their choosen trades so as to become an employer of labour in Ilawe. The Chiefs prayed for the beneficiaries & more development in the town during the reign of the incumbent Alawe. Butressing the Chiefs encouragements, The State Cordinator of NDE (Mrs. Sherifat) advised the beneficiaries to be of good conduct, law abiding & upright so as to be a role model to many other youths in the town. She further appreciate the Monarch for bein supportive during the course of the training. While reacting to the advices, One of the Beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondents attribute the success of the programme to the undaunted support & fatherly role dissipated by Oba Adebanji Alabi. He described the King as a progressive minded monarch who always sees to the welfarism of his subjects Even at a trying period during this training, Our King stands by us & make sure we arent denying our entitlements, We therefore dedicate the success of the programme to God & HRM, ALAWE OF ILAWE cos without them both, it would have bein another story entirely today She said. Another beneficiary who joyfully spoke with us showed her appreciation to God for counting her worthy & standing her out from among the teeming youths in Ilawe who benefited from this rare opportunity, She thanks Oba Adebanji Alabi for deeming it fit to influenced the programme to Ilawe inorder to empower the Youths. She prayed for long live & prosperity for the King. The programme came to an end as exactly 5:15pm as Beneficiaries happily struggles to transport their equipments to their different homes while many were joyfully snapping pictures.
