NDIGBO & 2015 PRESIDENTIAL POLL Im not an advocate of rotational presidency.It is an ill wind.It blew us the present mess.But unlike me,Ohaneze Ndigbo,the socio-cultural organisation of the Igbos, champions rotational presidency.Its clamour for a prez of Igbo extraction (there can be no Igbo prez in a Nigeria) is the worlds worst kept secret.Before this accidental presidency of Jonathan,the agitation for a prez of Ibo extraction was so universal that Tiber trembled underneath its banks... Curiously,that agitation is now muted.Curious bcos my Igbo frnds hav bn labouring to educate me that Prez Jonathan is not Igbo (folks in my village refused to buy that!).If the Igbos hv not realised their ambition,why hv they not ramped up their effort to actualise same in 2015?Have Igbos adopted Jonathans presidency as theirs? In a move that suprised many,Ohaneze Ndigbo has banned any Igbo nursing presidential ambition to shelve same for the sake of Jonathan.This is even as Mr Prez himself has still to openly declare for re-election.The impression is thus created that Ohaneze Ndigbo only agitates for the presidency whn a northerner is occupying that office.Or is about to occupy the office. Whn wl Ohaneze Nd play its card right?
