NE Charles Village Fall Tree Planting Campaign The Charles - TopicsExpress

NE Charles Village Fall Tree Planting Campaign The Charles Village Tree Stewards have planned a Fall Tree Planting event. This is a shout out for those interested in helping the Tree Planting Coordinators & Tree Recipients, for additional Tree Planting volunteer help. If you want to help your neighbor volunteers plant trees in NE Charles Village, come out and help on the below noted days & times. Baltimore Citys Department of Forestry (thank you very much) is providing the appropriate trees for the planting areas. Meeting locations for 9:00 am each Saturday morning are as follows: October 26: 3200 Barclay Street November 2: 2848 Guilford Avenue November 9: 453 Whitridge Avenue Please arrive by 9:00 am to sync up with the planting plan. Planting will happen through light/intermittent rain, continuing until the day’s trees are planted. November 23 is the rain backup date. Bring a shovel, a pick, a mattock, a broom, a hammer. Volunteer drivers of trucks can help deliver the trees to the planting locations. The October 26 trees will be large bail and burlap trees. These could be heavy, requiring a multi-person lift into a volunteer’s open bed truck to transport them from the delivery site to the planting locations. We’re planning to plant 9 trees on this day. The November 2 and November 9 trees should be in manageable 15 gallon containers. We still need trucks to move trees this size. We currently have 15 and 14 trees planned for these two days, respectively. We are thankful to Forestry for trees they provide. All help is appreciated. If you are interested in helping the all volunteer efforts of our neighborhood Tree Stewards, please contact Kirsch Jones at kirsch.jones@gmail. Let’s continue the longstanding green transformation in our neighborhood! Kirsch Jones
