NEDI concludes training on basic business skills, others Africa » Gambia Tuesday, August 27, 2013 The National Enterprise Development Initiative (NEDI), on Friday concluded a five-day training on business skills and micro funding for small businesses. Organised by the National Enterprise Development Initiative (NEDI), the training brought together thirty participants youth entrepreneurs who were sensitised on business entrepreneurship, marketing and leadership development. Speaking at the closing ceremony, the deputy permanent secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malang Jassy, thanked NEDI for organising the training . He urged participants to be visionary and resourceful noting that the certificates presented to them are meant to encourage them to become more hardworking. DPS Jassy advised the participants to work as a team, as well as be consultative and seek advice from experienced entrepreneurs with similar businesses in order to be successful. He finally urged them to make best use of the training saying it will help to develop their business skills and build their future . Hon. Babou Gaye-Sonko also thanked NEDI for organising the training. He urged the participants to utilize the knowledge gained during the training. He also thanked the Gambian leader for establishing the National Enterprise Development Initiative (NEDI) to empower the youths and women of the country. Speaking on behalf of the participants, Kabba Sonko, thanked president Jammeh for his commitment to the empowerment of youths and women of the country. He also commended NEDI for the gesture. He assured the organizers that the knowledge gained from the training would be put into good use. Sutay Jawo, deputy director of Youth and Sports also lauded NEDI for the initiative. He said enterprise development is one of government’s greatest concerns hence the establishment NEDI. Other speakers include, the executive secretary of the National Youth Council, Abubacarr Sisawo and Pierre Minteh, the National Youth Mobiliser. Author: Arfang Camara
