NEGATIVE VOLITION However, there is a great obstacle to the perfect happiness which God has provided: it is your own negative volition. When you decide to sin, you get out of fellowship with God. When you get out of fellowship, your scale of values changes and Bible doctrine is no longer important to you. When you decide to ignore or reject Bible doctrine, your eyes turn toward the details of life. With your eyes on the details of life, no day can be Christmas for you! There is nothing under your Christmas tree that can come close to the better things which are your in Christ. While it is not wrong to celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts, it is wrong and it is tragic for you to get your eyes on the things you receive. Since the day you accepted Christ as Savior, you have possessed better things. Are you discovering them or are you still looking to the details of life for happiness? We are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. (Hebrews 10:39)
