NETAJI SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE, a shining star of the Independence struggle ****************************************************************************** There were many contributors to the Swadeshi Movement and architects of Independence. Most important of them are Mahatma Gandhi, Dadabhai Navroji, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Lokmanya Tilak, Khudiram Bose, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose etc. It was a team work and a collective effort. No one single person who have achieved this freedom. But the name of NETAJI SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE shines like a star from among the group of committed Indians who struggled for Indias freedom. He and his I.N.A. were the reasons why the British left the country in August 1947. This was confirmed much later by the ex-Prime Minister of the U.K., Clement Atlee in 1956 while on a visit to India. He reaffirmed Netajis armed action on the eastern border (together with the mutiny of Indian naval personnel against the British at Bombay in 1946) forced the colonial authorities to leave, not Gandhis Quit India movement in 1942. Incidentally, it was during Clement Atlees tenure as Prime Minister that India got its independence. Let us all spare a moment for honouring the memory of NETAJI. who together with his INA colleagues gave their lives for the country and proved to be valiant sons of Bharat.
