NEW AUTOMATED RECYCLING SERVICES UPDATE - 1/5/2015 Beginning today, January 5, 2015, a crew from Republic Services will be delivering New Automated Recycling carts to residents and business owners. The carts will placed at the curb at all participating addresses. Once your New Automated Recycling cart is delivered please wheel it in from the curb at your earliest convenience. The New Automated Recycling Carts will begin operation on January 12, 2015. Please be advised, the New Automated Recycling cart will be the only type of container that will be picked up by the automated recycling collection truck. ***The Red/Red-Orange 18 gallon manually collected bins will NOT be collected after January 7, 2015.*** You are welcome to keep your Red/Red-Orange recycle bin and use it for storage. If you do not want to keep your Red/Red-Orange recycle bin, they can be recycled in your new cart or dropped off to the Municipal Services Department Office at 1231 Goldsmith. The Department of Municipal Services is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The new Blue Automated Recycling Carts will begin operation the week of January 12, 2015. Therefore: - - If your regular trash day is Monday, begin placing your new Blue Automated Recycling Cart to the curb for pick up on Monday, January 12, 2015. - - If your regular trash day is Tuesday, begin placing your new Blue Automated Recycling Cart to the curb for pick up on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. - - If your regular trash day is Wednesday, begin placing your new Blue Automated Recycling Cart to the curb for pick up on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. The new Automated Recycling Carts work just like your current Automated Trash Cart. On your scheduled “Garbage Day,” place the cart(s) at the curb for collection with the arrows on the top of the cart facing the street. Please make sure all of your recyclables are inside the cart with the lid closed. Also, be sure that it is at least three feet away from any objects (trash cart, mailboxes, trees, cars, etc.). Please refer to the City of Plymouth’s Website at ci.plymouth.mi.us for additional information regarding solid waste services.
