NEW BANSHEE MODELS We never work on only one book at a time at Detail & Scale.. While the Cougar book is getting most of our attention right now, we are also doing some work on the Banshee book that will follow. Of course, the reasons the Banshee Book is on the schedule is because of the new kits coming out in 1/72nd and 1/48th scale this year. While the 1/48th scale kits are not scheduled for release until the second half of the year, the two Sword 1/72nd scale kits are already available, and we have an example of each. One is an F2H-2, and the other is an F2H-2P. Ill give more details about them soon, but just as a preview, they are both high-tech, multi-media kits with injection-molded plastic, resin, and etched metal parts. They are extremely well detailed, an appear to be well done in all respects. Between now and when the book comes out, Ill build at least one of them and give some in-progress reports. All I can say is that I hope Sword will continue to produce 1/72nd scale Navy jet fighters of this quality in 1/72nd scale. We need new Furies, a Demon, Cutlass, all Cougar variants, and the later versions of the Banshee. Even an FH-1 Phantom would be nice to see!
