NEW CURRICULUM: END OF CHILDHOOD? Your thoughts please on the new curriculum introduced this week to English primary and secondary schools? Younger students will have to do without calculators, writing computer code and mastering subjects by rote instead; while secondary pupils will have to retain more knowledge too as well as read more Shakespeare and do less general science. Critics say the combined effect of all these changes will be to destroy childhood - too much pressure. Reallly?
