NEW DELHI: Speech by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. He delivers his first speech on the occasion of Independence Day at the historic Red Fort on 15th August! 7:30: PM Hosts the National Flag at Red Fort 7:35: I am here not as Prime Minister but as Prime Servant of the country. 7:37: The people who sacrificed their lives for our country, I recall them with all love and want to take forward the country as an inspiration. 7:38: Our Country has been built by farmers, youths, saints, teachers since ages. 7:40: After independence every state, every PM is responsible for India reaching this position and I want to thank all the previous governments. 7:45: We are not people who want to rise on majority but rather on agreement by all. 7:47: I am an outsider for Delhi. 7:49: I was shocked when I took an insider view in Delhi, there are scattered govts inside one govt. All depts are in tussle with each other. 7:50: Govt should be an organic entity. 7:52: I assure my country, that every person in the govt has strength and I will try to evoke it work for the betterment. 7:53: I am pained to read news about Government officials reaching offices in time as if we have fallen to what levels. Private employees says its a job but for government employees says its a service & they should keep that in mind. 7:54: Cabinet secretary to peon all have ability and we need to awaken, and, I will do that. 7:55: When we hear the cases of rape, my head is lowered in shame. 7:56: Girls are asked thousands of questions but why arent the boys asked any question. 7:58: I want to expedite the nation-building process by encouraging the capabilities of government functionaries. 7:59: Have parents ever asked their son where they go and do like what we do to our daughters. In a desire to have a boy child dont kill your daughters. PM congrats women players who won medals at Glasgow Commonwealth Games. 8:00: Its the demand of time that we should follow brotherhood and drop ammunitions. Need of the hour is to abandon violence & follow path of nonviolence and we have not got anything from communal violence. 8:01: We will move towards brotherhood and peace in 10 years. 8:02: Lets fix a moratorium of 10 years to shun violence. 8:03: PM in his Independence Day extempore speech, appeals to militants and Maoists to shun violence. 8:04: The citizen should take forward steps for the country. 8:05: There are farmers committing suicide in our country. Who will save them? I will implement a Yojana to raise poor people and connect them with banks. 8:06: We need to keep a balance in imports and exports and for that manufacturing needs encouragement. 8:07: Come and make in India. 8:08: I want to address the world and say From chemicals to pharmaceuticals, come in India. I invite all. Our dream should be Made in India. We should make our country capable enough to stop importing and start exporting. 8:09: We should not compromise. Zero defect, and zero effect to the nature. 8:10: Our dream is Digital India. we will connect all villages with broadband 8:11:The poor should get the chance to operate mobile governance. 8:15: Tourism should be encouraged, even a Tea seller can earn his living with dignity. 8:17: Tourism is getting affected due to pollution, and thats why cleanliness is the utmost need of the hour. 8:18: Open defecation is a shame. Women have to wait for the sun to set, to go out, imagine the pain her body goes through. 8:20: I am from a poor family and I want the poor to get respect. 8:23: PM announces clean India campaign from October 2 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. 8:25: There should be model villages and we should work towards it. 8:27: Planning Commission was formed to meet the demands during the time after Independence, but now time has changed. 8:28: Instead of Planning Commission, a new institute will be formed, very soon. It will work holistically keeping in mind the present conditions. 8:29: The need for federal structure is increasing. We should strengthen it. 8:30: In days to come our country can do a lot. 8:31: If our country can win against foreigners, then why not poverty. 8:32: I want to ask the SAARC countries to help, and will help to remove poverty. 8:35: I want to tell this to all my co-workers that if you work for 12 hours, I will work for 13 hours, because I am the Prime Servant. Amazing sense of commitment of purpose. First time ever a speech which inspires & makes sense to me, what about you? This is such a welcome change from the past & predictable speeches. Proud to be Indian!!
