NEW EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Project Operation Manager (Mikisew Group of Companies) Reports To: Executive Director - JV Location: Ft Chipewyan Purpose & Key Accountabilities: Assist in the planning, directing, implementation, management and/or coordination of operations for assigned field sites. Support and implements company objectives to meet or exceed targets. Maintain excellence practices and standards for operations through the utilization of productivity, quality, and process improvements in the operations areas. Responsible for resource allocation, including are of responsibility budget and personnel. Operating costs to be maintained at approved budget levels. Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: • Assist Field Managers in maximizing productivity while minimizing operating costs • Assist in developing Field Plans and assure the following is incorporated into these plans and assure that budgets are within the scope , incorporating the following points: a) Service categories offered are reviewed for profitability & margins b) Clear standards of performance for each labour market and equipment opportunity are set c) Standards are set for cost of labor and equipment for profitable performance of each service/operational category d) Responsible for supporting General Manager in negotiating major contracts and completing agreements with contractors on the site * In conjunction with management, create, refine, and enforce a standardized, structured process for the design, development, testing, and deployment of all services for assigned operational projects * Oversee operational projects as assigned in terms of complexity, cost, time-constraints and equipment * Work with all field sites on implementation of best practices for site operations that increases overall supply chain efficiency * Responsible for working with management to set productivity goals, manage operating cost and develop capital efficiency targets for site operations * Responsible to convey information effectively to site operations regarding targets, budgets, projects, capital costs, projects etc. * Motivate, develop, supervise, as required and direct employees as they work, identifying the best people for the job * Work with management to determine staffing requirements, oversee employee processes, such as employee orientation, EHS * Builds excellent working relationships with the site personnel as well as other managers * Oversee operational project development and implementation. * Maintain operational projects cost, schedule, issues and risks a communicate operational project status to stakeholders * Review and report all performance indicators weekly and provide input where required to ensure targets are met * Manages issues and concerns with operational management * Support operational projects, assists in the identification and analysis of business needs, providing direction on strategy and planning where necessary * Implements, communicates and continuously improves operational project budgets & targets * Work with the operational project team to develop schedules and conduct regular review and updates * Coordinates operational project resourcing including operations, procurement, finance & accounting required to effectively execute operational projects * Ability to develop budgets, revenues and margins. Ability to work with finance to conduct monthly analysis to identify opportunities to meet targets * Work with Finance to manage and accounts receivable. * Conducts quality checks on operational project documentation to ensure standards are achieved * Responsible for implementation and enforcement of Loss Control Program within all field sites * Work closely with management to ensure Emergency Response (ERP) Plans are in place and being appropriately adhered to at each site * Acts as a key liaison across all functional areas, including outside vendors * Other duties as assigned and as may be amended from time to time to meet company/organizational objectives.
