NEW EXHIBIT OPENING NOV 22! This recent MSU press release details a new exhibit opening soon at the Museum of the Rockies. The exhibit features a reconstruction of the burrowing hypsilophodont dinosaur Oryctodromaeus, described in 2007 by MSU Prof. David Varricchio and coauthors. As an undergrad, Horner Lab grad student Cary Woodruff published a taphonomy experiment with Prof. Varricchio that investigated how the Oryctodromaeus bones settled after sediment flooded the burrows. The new exhibit will also feature the mysterious Macroelongatoolithus: enormous dinosaur eggs that are our only clue that a yet-undiscovered species of giant oviraptorid theropod lived alongside Oryctodromaeus in Montana and Idaho, 95 Million years ago.
