NEW LEINSTER CHAMPION FOR SLANEY our little u/a team headed off to kilmessen today for the leinster championship full of confidence after a great ride by reece and fionn at the wexford league race last week. elliot was first to pick up a result when he had a brilliant 2nd in the u14 race. reece and fionn lined out in the u16 race on a circuit really too flat for their liking but managed to break the group in to 3 groups with both of the lads in the front group. try as they might this group stayed together for the sprint. fionn led them into the village and reece managed to take a fine win with fionn 6th. such is the standard that the lads set for themselves they were ok with the result but felt they could have done better! two weeks to go now until the all-irelands in antrim and i for one hope they do well and can get a bit of good luck as they have put in the miles and the hard work.
