NEW MEMORIAL AT WESTMINSTER ABBEY On Friday 17th October a memorial to Matthew Boulton was unveiled in St Paul`s Chapel. Matthew Boulton (1728-1809) was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution in Birmingham. His name is linked to James Watt who is memorialised by a bust in the North Nave Aisle. Together they improved the steam engine. Boulton was a member of the Lunar Society, an informal learned society of prominent figures in the Midlands Enlightenment, which also included Erasmus Darwin and Josiah Wedgwood among its members.
