In 2011, it seems that Dr. Joan Moreau thinks that shooting a coyote that she says killed her outdoor barn cat (the one she used to kill bunnies, mice and rats who wandered onto her 20 acres) was too good for the creature. So she set out beef broth basted rat poison that she hoped would cause the animal a slow, agonizing death. The coyote that killed her will die I think in 5-7 days after it ate the beef broth basted rat poison I put out on the game trail I found. It will die minus the trauma I found on my cat... She justifies this deliberate act of unspeakable animal torture by saying that shes at the top of the predator chain. When the media and public outrage shitstorm hit about a veterinarian, of all people, committing this heinous act (for which she was never held accountable, big surprise) and then bragging about it, she smugly stated: No other dogs come here on my 20 acres. I didnt endanger anyones dogs; would never do that. What wasnt eaten, I picked up in the morning. AMR: she was killed inside a fenced in 7 foot tall walled area. She was my feral barn cat, not a house cat. She came from a feral cat colony in SF. I had her for 5 years. She liked my dog. It wasnt thoughtless; I put a lot of thought into it. A lot. My barn cats have heaters in the winter and premium cat food in exchange for killing the bunnies, mice and rats in my hay barn. Just depends upon who you think is at the top of the predator chain. I happen to think I am.The BLM ranger told me they are out of control here where I live; he told us to shoot as many as Id like. Im a bad shot, so I cant do that. Callus? Warn your friends in New Mexico about Miss Moreau. Any vet capable of exacting this type of revenge on an animal is probably capable of anything.
