NEW ON THE BLOG! I am wealthy. It makes me squirm to admit it. Mentally and socially, I fit more with the group we call middle class, but viewed from a global scope, I am wealthy. I have never been hungry. I have never wondered about the resources or likelihood of my next meal. I have never lived in a space that was less than luxurious: indoor plumbing, clean water at my finger tips, electricity, heat and air conditioning. Not only do I not work, I don’t have to work. My husband’s job provides us with an income which we use to provide the essentials. It also allows us the benefits of health insurance, life insurance, and a retirement plan... Im starting a conversation about generational poverty today. It will be an ongoing theme for the next two weeks.
