Wagmatcook Culture & Heritage Centre GREAT HALL - FREE ADMISSION Friday, October 25th, we will set up the following films for local schools and the general public to view… Time: 10:00am – 11:00am Film: “Spiritwind” Directed/ Produced by Catherine Martin; Date: 2000; Approx 54 minutes. Documentary about the Journey of Chief Misel Joe of Miawpukek First Nation and members of his community who built and paddled a birch bark canoe from Miawpukek FN to Chapel Island, NS. It was a journey for healing of their own community, and reconnecting to the rest of Mikmaki. And as well… Time: 11:00am – 11:45am The Boy Who Lived With Muinskw ...The Making Of. Co-directed by Catherine Martin and Mary Elizabeth Luka. Produced by CBC; 2005. Aprox 20 minutes. A documentary about making of an animation. We speak with elders from the community about the making of this animation, talk to the animators, the artists and the storytellers and at the end, we see the animation which uses Alan Sylliboys art work to depict the story.
