NEW: This is a word doc in the Revelation 13 Series, Studies #31 through #35 by Chris McCann, consisting of 22 pages. This completes the Revelation 13 Series. Study #31 continues to look at the last part of Revelation 13:15: “…and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” The study looks at the difference between being obedient to a command of a government “in all things lawful,” versus not bowing down to things that are not lawful in the eyes of God. Study #32 looks at what it means, spiritually, to be “killed” for not worshipping the image of the beast. It compares this verse to John 16:1-2: “These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.” The study proves that being put out of the synagogues (NT churches) is equivalent to be “killed,” spiritually. Study #33 looks at Revelation 13:16: “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.” It compares this verse with Revelation 16:1-2: “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and *upon* them which worshipped his image.” What does it mean to have the “mark” of the beast and is it a literal mark? Study #34 looks at Revelation 13:17: “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” What does it mean, spiritually, to “buy or sell”? It looks at the parable of the 10 virgins in Matthew 25 and the fact that the five foolish virgins were to go to “them that sell and buy (oil) for themselves.” Who is it, ultimately, that “buys and sells” in the Gospel? Study #35 looks at Revelation 13:18: “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number *is* Six hundred threescore *and* six.” What is this mysterious number that seems to puzzle and confuse most people? The study proves that this number is synonymous with the fraction “two thirds,” which is most often used in the Bible to represent the unsaved of the world, as well as their head who is Satan.
