Caregivers make hay drops in different parts of our 2700-acre habitat, nearest wherever the Girls are, so they get the food they need without always having to return to the barns. Their winter diets are supplemented with fruits, vegetables, and grains...but hays the staple. Most will help themselves to someone elses hay when an opportunity presents itself, so protecting your hay becomes a necessary social skill in Sanctuary.
