NEW YEAR MESSAGE AND A CLARION CALL TO ALL CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF NIGER DELTA(U.S.N.D) - EDO ,DELTA, BAYELSA, RIVERS,AKWA – IBOM AND CROSS RIVERS (EDBRAC STATES) 01/01/2015 We greet the chosen people of the Niger Delta region with specific reference to the States mentioned above . Happy new year brothers and sisters! The much talked about 2015 has come with great uncertainties for the chosen people of the EDBRAC STATES. The two major political parties have come out again to campaign for our support to enable them control our political,economic and social future. The big question now is that with the count down to the presidential election this 2015, what will be the political, economic , and social benefit that will accrue to the entire people of this great region if either of the political parties win the presidential election. The probable outcomes or benefits could be as follows: (1) If PDP wins the presidential election with Goodluck Jonathan as the president Elect there will be wide spread violence that will be targeted mainly at our people wherever they find themselves in the country. (2) If the APC wins on the other hand it will simply mean that our region will lose political ,economic and social power/ prestige because the only real political position which we occupy now will be taken away. Yes we will be consoled with mere political recognition and largesse that will be given to our political leaders like Chief Odigie Oyegun, Comrade Adams Oshiomole , Rt. Hon Rotimi Ameachi and a host of others. The region will certainly lose woefully because the present dwindling oil revenue will be totally controlled by the people of other regions to the exclusion of our own people. Infact the political ,economic and social space of Nigeria will be closed to us perpetually. We are using this opportunity to call on all our people to avert this great danger that Is staring us in the face by disregarding the 2015 presidential election so that we can gather all our people together to negotiate with the other regions and tell them “ LET MY PEOPLE GO!” To enable us actualize our political,economic and social freedom from Nigeria. We should no longer be timid and continue to act like children who can not smell danger when it is staring us in front of our noses. During the 2014 national conference our organization , The Niger Delta Liberation Congress and others submitted that a referendum be conducted in the above named states - Edo, Delta, Bayelsa ,Rivers , Akwa Ibom and Cross – Rivers , to ascertain whether or not our people want independence from Nigeria, But to our dismay our communiqué was killed by our own brother, the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan who tagged the subject a “NO GO AREA” There is no better time than now to call our people together to negotiate our future with the other regions, for this is the only way forward, otherwise we shall be faced with political , economic and social disaster in the not too distance future. If our region is independent from Nigeria our political,economic and social space will be expanded and magnified to the extent that we will become a super power in less than a decade from now.
