NEW YORK CITY: Today, Klavierhaus - the exclusive representatives of Fazioli Pianos for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut announced the November and December lineups for JAZZHAUS - New Yorks new sanctuary for lovers of intimate jazz piano performance. The art of solo/duo piano is a craft developed over a lifetime of practice and place tremendous demands on the artist, said James Luce, Artistic Consultant and Series Producer, “JAZZHAUS features a diverse array of legends of jazz piano along with a coterie of rising stars of the piano looking for a chance to be heard in solo and collaborative situations. With only 50 seats, a level of intimacy is achievable that is rare, and this makes for an ideal environment for artist and audience. Tickets are $30 and available at klavierhaus/jazzhaus or at the door. The lineup for November: 10th BENITO GONZALEZ The fusion of world rhythm and straight-ahead jazz make this passionate Venezuelan pianist an audience favorite all over the world. Benito Gonzalez won the 2005 Great American Jazz Piano Competition, and has sat in the piano chair for many fabulous leaders, including Kenny Garrett, Pharoah Sanders, Bobby Hutcherson, Christian McBride, Ignacio Berroa, Roy Hargrove, Rene Mclean, Steve Turre, Hamiet Bluiett, Antonio Sanchez, Nicholas Payton and Jackie Mclean among others. 17th AARON PARKS Pianist Aaron Parks is a forward-thinking jazz musician. By age 16 he moved from Seattle to attend the Manhattan School of Music.While there, he studied with pianist Kenny Barron and was named the 2001 Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association. At age 18 he joined Terence Blanchards ensemble and recorded four albums with him, including 2003s Bounce, 2005s Flow, the soundtrack to the 2006 Spike Lee film Inside Man, and Blanchards 2007 Grammy-winning opus A Tale of Gods Will (A Requiem for Katrina). Parks has released several albums under his own name, including his 2008 Blue Note debut, Invisible Cinema. His powerful ECM solo piano recording Arborescence was released in the fall of 2013. 18th CLIFTON ANDERSON | JOCHEM LECOINTRE Clifton Anderson made his first record date with Carlos Garnett in 1976 and established himself as one of the young in demand trombonists in New York. Clifton joined Slide Hamptons World of Trombones with Janis Robinson, Steve Turre, Earl Mcintyre, Clifford Adams, Doug Purviance and Papa Vazquez. The early 1980s found Clifton working with a whos who of diverse musical giants: from Frank Foster, McCoy Tyner, Clifford Jordan, Stevie Wonder, Dizzy Gillespie, Merv Griffin and The Mighty Sparrow to Lester Bowie, Paul Simon, Muhal Richard Abrams, T. S. Monk and Dionne Warwick among others. In 1983, Clifton joined the band of legendary saxophonist Sonny Rollins and toured worldwide with Rollins for 25 years. Jochem Le Cointre is a scholarship student at the acclaimed New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, He shined in performance at the New School Summer Camp in Basano Dell Grappa, Italy, and earned a scholarship to study in New York. Today, Jochem LeCointre is already breaking barriers playing music that mixes Monteverdi with bebop and Debussy with avant-garde. 21st MANUEL VALERA JOHN BENITEZ MAURICIO HERRERA Based in New York City, Grammy nominated artist, pianist and composer Manuel Valera was born in Havana, Cuba. Since arriving in NYC, he has received national acclaim not only for his work, but also as a pianist and composer with such notable artists as Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D’Rivera, Brian Lynch, Dafnis Prieto, Yosvany Terry and others. John Benitez studied in NYC with legendary acoustic bassist Ron Carter and electric bass guitarist Anthony Jackson. A Grammy award-winning musician, Benitez has performed or recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Tito Puente, Lalo Rodriguez, Hilton Ruiz, Dave Samuels, Chucho Valdez, Bobby Watson David Sanchez, Eddie Palmieri and Roy Hargroves Grammy award-winning Crisol Band. Mauricio Herrera was born in Holguin, Cuba and has played with Son de Madre, Yosvany Terry’s Afro-Cuban Roots, Osmany Paredes Quartet, Oriente Lopez Group, Grupo Ibboru, Bryan Lynch, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Obbini Tumbao, Michelle Rosewoman and Candido Camero. 28th 29th JASON W MARSHALL & WILLERM DELISFORT Jason W. Marshalls 2003 arrival in New York City signified the continuation of hard swinging, forward thinking baritone saxophone playing. With early encouragement to appreciate all musical genres, Jason exhibits a style that encompasses whole of African-American music, and mixes soul music with straight-ahead jazz. Dedication and perseverance have resulted in a giant, soulful sound that has revitalized the baritone saxophone and bass clarinet in contemporary jazz music. Willerm Delisforts career extends the continuum of musical styles that ranges from jazz, gospel and R&B. Willerms versatility has him very busy among prominent jazz, rap, soul, and fusion artists, including 2009 Best World Guitarist Fareed Haque, Grammy Award winning artist T-Pain, Kirk Whalum, Louis Bellson, Lew Soloff, Calvin Newborn, Corey Wilkes, Curtis Fuller, and Jimmy Heath.
