NEW YORK Magazine, not unknown for its high standards and witty snark, praises its direct competitor by citing an excellent NEW YORK TIMES MAGAZINE cover story on Marissa Mayer. JEZEBEL, known for its feminist-first snark, calls the piece very thorough and pretty darn harsh. That buzzy, takes-no-prisoners cover story (linked in first comment below) runs this weekend. Sad for the glass cliff, but Mayer -- like her recent-ish hire / pal Katie Couric-- is a fighter who can take it and loves a challenge and is never one to go down for the count. Praise to the story subject, and the writer and editor. Talent, integrity, and toughness abound.
