LONDON, Jan 25.--Viscount Bryce called upon Ambassador Page today to urge America to interpose in aid of the Armenians who, driven out of their homes by the Turks, sought refuge in the wilds of Syria. Lord Bryce told Mr. Page that the predicament of the Armenians was becoming even worse than when the Turks started the slaughter, and said that the need of help was imperative. He informed the Ambassador that he had called as the representative of Armenians but were unable to do anything. Unless America was able to afford aid, he said, the Armenians eventually would starve to death on the barren plains of Syria. Lord Bryce urged Mr. Page to acquaint the American Government with the facts so that speedy relief might be afforded. Mr. Page assured Lord Bryce that he would at once inform Washington.
