***NEW app of the day*** (4.99) Jolly Phonics Letter Sounds is a fantastic app for you to teach your children early reading, sight words, spelling and word/picture association. This app works through letter sounds in the same order that they do in my daughters school in Australia. I love how it is set up with your child growing their garden or flowers as they progress through letter sounds. They get given the letter sounds in a groups of 3 and each set of letter sounds then gives your child a range of activities to work through. First they learn each individual letter sound as well as learning how to trace the letters. They then work on a game of letter sound recognition identifying which sound is being asked for. Children then progress to blending sounds and then to spelling the words they have just blended together. Children are guided around the app by a friendly bee with lots of positive reinforcement.
