The responsibility of the Operations Manager will be establishing and leading a world-class manufacturing operation in order to provide the company a clear competitive advantage and consistently deliver high quality products to a variety of customers. Duties/Responsibilities: Analyze plant efficiency and labour cost against industry benchmarks. Develop and maintain office procedures ensuring work flow procedures and information through each department in a timely manner with a focus on meeting customer delivery requirements. Oversee purchasing to ensure cost effective and timely deliveries are being met to the production schedule. Review manufacturing methods and implement cost saving opportunities. Continued focus and supporting the company’s formal quality program; Lean and other programs aimed at continuous improvement. Recommend and implement the best plant layout, systems and production equipment in order to achieve the highest quality while ensuring maximum shop throughput. Recommend capital expenditures based on payback analysis. Focused on value added priorities and continuous improvement. Oversee the recruitment, training and retention plan for all personnel. Oversee the performance management, compensation and other systems initiated by the corporate departments to ensure compliance. Responsible for overall accountability of the company’s production system. Required Skills 10+ years working in an Operations capacity in a lean Manufacturing environment. Lean manufacturing training and experience. Sound leadership, staff management, and team-building skills. Engineering background an asset. Understanding of work flow and constraints theories. Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices, strong financial aptitude; accounting designation preferred. High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability. Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines. Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and able to lead by example. Knowledge of Industrial Equipment.
