NEWS:- Baramulla, Aug 9: At least 10 persons died and two others were wounded when Tata Sumo vehicle they were travelling in fell in a deep gorge near Barnate Boniyar here in north Kashmir on Friday.Officials said the ill-fated Sumo (No. JK05B-44200 was on its way from Boniyar to Barnate." At least 6 persons died on the spot while 3 more died on their way to District hospital Baramulla and one of the injured later succumbed to his injuries late in the night in the hospital,” said a police official.The deceased were identified as Abdul Majeed Ganaie, Bashir Ahmmad Sheikh, Abdul Qayoom Mir, Abdul Rashid Shah, MushtaqAhmmad Malik, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Ghulam Hassan, MushtaqAhmmad Shah Jamsood Iqbal Mir and Shabir Ahmad Sood all residents of Barnate Boniyar.Meanwhile a team of district officials led by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Farooq Ahmad Shah and Health Department rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.According to district officials, the chief minister has announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs one lakh each to the family of killed persons in the accident and Rs 10,000/ to the injured persons.Omar shockedChief Minister, Omar Abdullah has expressed shock over the loss of precious human lives in a road accident in Boniyar area of Uri in Baramulla District.In his condolence message to the bereaved families, the Chief Minister has conveyed his grief and sympathy to them. He has alsosanctioned ex-gratia relief of Rs. one lakh for the Next of Kin of the deceased and Rs. 10,000 for the injured. The Chief Minister directedthe District Administration and Health Department to provide all possible medicare to the injured.Dr Farooq, Shafi Uri express griefUnion Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Member Parliament Muhammad Shafi Uri have expressed deep grief shock over the loss of precious human lives in a road accident that took place in Boniyar area in north Kashmir, an official spokesman said.In the separate condolence messages they have conveyed theirsympathy to bereaved families andprayed for peace to the departed souls. They also prayed for early recovery of the injured.Meanwhile, Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din has expressed deep grief and shock over the loss of precious human lives in a tragic road accident which took place in Boniyar area ofUri in Baramulla district early morning today.
