Currently, Red Cross is supporting a family reunification center with mental health workers and refreshments, and also provided blood products to local hospitals. HOW TO HELP If you would like to help, please consider making a donation today by visiting redcross.org, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). LOOKING AHEAD... The holiday season is fast approaching. The American Red Cross Stuttgart Station would like to show our support for our service members serving in Afghanistan. Many of our service members are living in Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) and the need for some very basic comfort items is great. We would like to ask you to join us in this support effort by donating what you can from the following list. -Shampoo, chap stick, tooth paste, tooth brushes, hand sanitizer, lotion, safety pins, baby wipes, shower gel, soap, dental floss, small combs, and all sorts of packaged snacks (cookies (Girl Scout cookies are a bonus!), popcorn, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, etc.). Some gently used board games would be appreciated. Holiday cards are also a welcomed item, just knowing that they are being thought about. Do you crochet or knit? Would you consider making an afghan for a patient at the hospital there or a service member just needing a little extra warmth for those cold winter nights? The possibilities to show our support are endless. Donations can be placed in the donation box outside of the Stuttgart Red Cross office, Panzer Kaserne, Bldg. 2915, Room 314, from 0800-1630 Monday - Friday, beginning October 1st. We will continue to collect items through November 1st, then packing them and forwarding them to Afghanistan prior to the holiday mail rush. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
