NEWS: EMMERSON BAN REDUCED TO THREE MATCHES AFTER APPEAL After the meeting of the Elite League appeals committee this morning, the 10-game ban for Edinburgh Capitals forward Riley Emmerson has been reduced to three (3) matches. Edinburgh provided the committee with written statements regarding the missing video footage and have shown it was because of technical issues. The appeals committee came to the conclusion that the lack of footage was down to those technical issues, which Edinburgh has resolved to stop these occurring again. The committee also took into account the new evidence regarding the severity of the injury sustained by Belfast Giants defenceman Kevin Phillips, after he played in games last weekend. Emmerson has already served his three matches, so is free to return to action this weekend. The £1,000 fine for the Edinburgh Capitals will remain in place.
