NEWS FLASH - FIRST GOOSE POND FWA RECORD OF RIVER OTTER A River Otter from the IDNR reintroduced population has now reached Goose Pond FWA. Sandy and Jeff Belth of Bloomington observed one RIVER OTTER at close range while participating in the Goose Pond Christmas Bird Count on December 17, 2014. Sandy, Assistant Naturalist for Monroe County Parks and Recreation, wrote a report on the sighting and submitted it to the GPFWA administration. This may be a Greene County first as well. Information on DNR River Otter web site indicates that there were no Greene County records up through 2013. Go to the web site, click on Otter Distribution, and open the map.
