NEWS FLASH!!! The STEER, Inc. Board of Directors and the STEER, Inc. staff are excited to announce a wonderful event in the life of this mission ministry! On July 1, 2014, the administrative percentage that STEER takes out of agricultural sales through its ministry will be reduced by another 4 percent. What does this mean? Currently, 86 percent of the agricultural sales gain goes to missions with 5 percent deducted for insurance and 9 percent administration. The new percentages effective July 1st, will mean 90 percent to missions with 5 percent deducted for insurance and 5 percent deducted for administration. This of course means a substantial increase on each sale will now go to missions rather than administration. There are several reasons that this is possible, including higher cattle markets and the very strong support that the mission ministry of STEER, Inc. has received from financial supporters outside of the traditional three-way stewardship triangle (UNIT Donors, Farmers/Ranchers and Missionaries). We call these tremendous supporters the Friends of STEER. It is because of their generous giving to help meet STEER’s operational needs that this ministry has been allowed to move in this direction. We thank God for all involved in STEER’s mission impact support program and for everyone working together to help support missions and the advancement of the Gospel. The mission ministry of STEER, Inc. is very thankful for the trust that the friends of STEER have shown over the years. Please note that it is the Board and staff’s intention that this percentage change will be a long term action. However, we must inform you that any long term down turn in the cattle markets or decrease in the support of STEER, Inc.’s operations income may result in future adjustments to the operating percentages. We are hoping and praying as mentioned above, that this percentage change is a long term action. We give thanks to God that He has allowed this ministry to increase the amount of agricultural sales that goes to missions from less than 69 percent, 15 years ago, to now 90 percent, beginning July 1, 2014. To God be the Glory!
