NEWS FLASH on health insurance: For 2015, CoveredCA plans for Ventura County (Region 12) will once again include Anthem Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, and Kaiser HMO. For Los Angeles County (Regions 16 & 15), there will be HMOs with Kaiser, LA Care, Molina and HealthNet (for Silver to Platinum). HealthNets Bronze will change from a PPO to an EPO. Anthem will offer both EPO and HMO. Blue Shield will be the only PPO option on the exchange for LA County. I expect many of my clients who dont require a subsidy to shift in 2015 to an off-exchange plan with Assurant Health PPO, since its provider network is much larger (Aetna Signature Network), its customer service is faster, and most often its premiums are less.
