Locust Point Civic Re-Opening On February 8th, I was very happy to celebrate the re-opening of the Locust Point Civic House! Congressman Joe Crowley was successful in bringing FEMA money back to New York City for Sandy relief, and I was able to get City funds for the renovation of the Civic House. The building suffered tremendous damage during Superstorm Sandy, but thanks to a lot of hard work by the civic association and my office, it is now back and better than ever with new walls and floors and a new electrical system. Sign Up For Direct Deposit! With New York City seemingly hit by a new snowstorm each week, my office has received many phone calls from senior citizens whose social security checks have been coming late from the post office. Well, sign up for direct deposit, have your social security check placed straight into your bank account, and this problem will be solved! In order to sign up, all you have to do is fill out a simple form, which can be obtained by calling our local social security office at 866-593-0934, or by reaching out to Larry in my office at 718-931-1721. So, be sure to look into direct deposit, and make waiting for the post office and going to the bank to deposit your social security check a thing of the past!
