NEWS: Former Premier Alison Redford has announced she is relinquishing her role as MLA for Calgary-Elbow, effective immediately. In an article published in the Calgary Herald and Edmonton Journal this morning, Redford writes: I recognize mistakes were made along the way. In hindsight, there were many things I would have done differently. That said, I accept responsibility for all the decisions I have made.” The decision comes in the wake of recent allegations that Redfords staff would falsify passenger records on government planes to allow then-Premier Redford to fly alone. Redford says she will not be claiming the controversial transition allowance available to outgoing MLAs.
