NEWS FLASH!!! --MANILA, Philippines - Plunder charges were filed with the Office of the Ombudsman against 38 individuals who were named in the criminal complaints for plunder, graft, malversation of public funds, or direct bribery; with 22 of them facing plunder charges. Apart from Janet Napoles, among the others are: 1. Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile 2. Sen. Jinggoy Estrada 3. Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. 4. former congresswoman, Masbate Gov. Rizalina Seachon-Lanete 5. former PEC party-list representative Edgar Valdez 6. Enrile chief-of-staff Jessica Lucila Reyes 7. Revilla’s employee Richard Cambe 8. Enrile’s and Estrada’s representative Ruby Tuason 9. Estrada’s staff Pauline Labayen 10. Lanete’s employee Jose Sumalpong 11. Lanete’s district staff Jeanette de la Cruz 12. Dangwa’s chief of staff Erwin Dangwa 13. Dangwas employee Carlos Lozada. 14. Jocelyn Piorato of APMFI 15. Nemesio Pablo of AEPFFI 16. Mylene Encarnacion of CARED 17. John Raymund de Asis of KPMFI 18. Marivic Jover. 31. former congressman Rodolfo Gerry Plaza of Agusan del Sur 32. former congressman Samuel Dangwa of Benguet 33. former congressman Constantino Jaraula of Cagayan de Oro The plunder complaints were based on a fact-finding investigation conducted by the NBI. Documentary evidence included Commission on Audit (COA) reports showing how questionable NGOs were able to get share from lawmakers’ Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), commonly known as pork barrel. Lawmakers charged by the NBI unjustly enriched themselves by receiving 40 percent to 60 percent of the cash value of various PDAF-funded projects. Enrile, Revilla and Estrada received P172.8 million, P224.5 million and P183.7 million, respectively, in commissions, rebates, or kickbacks from fake or dubious non-government organizations (NGO) linked to Napoles.
