NEWS PRESENTATIONs: another byte of laughter. If Mr. Robert Kabushenga, the vision group CEO had paid a visit to our training, some people would get instant jobs. You know whom I am talking about. The guys of “Agataliko Nfuufu” must either be students of Luganda as a language or grand children of the first Kattikiro (prime minister) of Buganda not for the ”Bisoko” and “Bikokyo”(Luganda language intricacies ) that they unleashed on a daily basis. These guys would get the right information, the right voice projections, and the right words that a mere hold of the microphone even before the deep, loud, legendary voice of “Ebikulu mu gataliko nfuufu” we would already be deep dead into laughter! We were utterly wowed by their creativity. Now at the beggining of the training, English news anchors were called upon to present themselves, and have a do. No one showed up never mind that the participants were university students and English is Uganda’s official language. After a while, someone got “balls” and offered himself for the job mobilizing other colleagues to join him! Now whoever said persistence is the only needed ingredient must have watched the preview of this training. Just read this, At first a pair made up of a Musoga friend of mine, and a ‘half caste’ chotela babe… by the way what happened to the duo? They forwarded themselves for the job of reading the news in English!. I do not know whether their presentation was good, whether they received a good reception or not, whether they loved what they did or not, or whether the participants were envious of the female anchors beauty, class, and attitude but one thing I’m sure of, the two news anchors did not appear again…… Then there came the brave man, the man who is never shaken by negativity, the one who is immune to “vvaayo”, the news researcher, the organizer, the mobilizer, the news writer, reporter, director, and anchor at the same time. Whether you want him or not, he will push the news down your throat, you may vomit if you wish. Now that is what I call the spirit of a fighter…..a true mukiiga Such folks are bound to succeed in life, may we take a lesson from Br. Comrade Husama’s resilience… what matters is not what others think, it’s about what you think about yourself or ability. Others have mere opinion about you, only you have facts about yourself. I’m still searching for NTV CEO’s Joe Muneno’s contacts to tell him about Lafifah, and solo’s news anchoring prowess, they can beat morris Mugisha, and Josephine Karungi giving them a run for their money. THIS IS A TIP OF AN ICE BERG IN THE THRILLING NOSTALGIC PIECE THAT I NEVER GET TIRED OF READING THROUGH MYSELF....#hAKUNAMUDAHAKUNAMUDA# AN excerpt....
