NEWS RELEASE #PuntaGorda Police Department January 4, 2015 Intoxicated Woman Arrested for Occupied Burglary On Saturday, January 3, 2015, officers responded to 2501 Rio Grande Drive, Punta Gorda, in reference to a call about a female that entered into an occupied residence. The suspect, later identified as Dawn Rene Feeterman, date of birth 08-03-1969, subsequently fled the scene after the homeowners, who were awoke by an alarm, verbally confronted Feeterman. It was learned that Feeterman who lived at a residence in an adjacent neighborhood, entered the residence through an unsecure sliding door. The victims repeatedly asked Feeterman to leave and at one point she said “no.” The victims, believing Feeterman had left, got up out of bed to deactivate the alarm and found Feeterman still standing on their patio. They once again asked her to leave. Feeterman finally fled the scene. The residents described Feeterman as being dressed in all black and carrying a tote bag. K-9 Officer Lee Coel and K-9 Spirit began a track from the residence. During the search Officer Coel found cigarettes and a beer can near the air conditioning unit. These items were later found to belong to Feeterman. Officers located Feeterman when she walked out into the street several houses away. Feeterman was positively identified by the victims as the person that entered their residence without their permission. Feeterman was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling. She was held without bond. Prepared by: Lieutenant Joe King Punta Gorda Police Department
